Bars

Trotzdem: Ist schon ziemlich romantisch in diesem Hexenhäuschen.

Turtle Bay, 1119 Decatur St. Granted, a name like „Turtle Bay“ doesn´t exactly scream „Gothasfuck!“., but this is currently my favorite of the lower Decatur Street goth-friendly bar trilogy (the other two being the Hideout and Molly`s at the Market, listed below). Why? Several Reasons: they have a great selection of both beer & cider on tap, the place isn´t usually overly crowded, and Turtle Bay is reasonably clean for a Decatur Street bar. (meaning I´ve not yet had to do the cockroach stomp.)... and did I mention the wide selection of cider?)

The Hideout, 1207 Decatur St. One of New Orleans seediest bars. (this may even be it´s official title...). Located in the lower quarter, The Hideout is down the street from the Crystal as well as several other gothfriendly bars, making it a convenient place to go for a drink before, after, and during the clubs, or a pit stop along your evening of bar crawling. The drinks are very cheap, the people are... interesting, but the bathroms are frightening.

Molly`s at the Market, 1107 Decatur St. Hier trägt die lokale Presse ihre Nachrichten zusammen. Eine lange Theke, ein paar Barhocker, Zeitungen. Mehr nicht. Reicht ja auch.
